Keynote Speakers Saturday 9th October

richard bowlby Sir Richard Bowlby

Richard Bowlby qualified in medical and scientific photography in 1968. He retired in 1999 to spend his time studying the work of his father, John Bowlby, the pioneer researcher on the impact of early attachment relationships between parents and their young children.

Richard actively promotes a wider understanding of the rapidly growing body of attachment research and is in touch with many attachment workers and their
organisations. His lectures draw on personal insights into how his father assembled his research information

suzanne zeedy Dr.Suzanne Zeedyk

Completed her PhD at Yale University (USA) in 1994. She is now a senior lecturer at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Research interests include Parent-Infant Interaction and Communication. Suzanne is the author of many research papers, journal articles and her third book is under review.

karl heinz brisch Dr. Karl Heinz Brisch

Dr. Karl Heinz Brisch is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist – Adult Psychiatrist and Neurologist and a Psychoanalyst. Author of the book “ Treating Attachment Disorders – From Theory to Therapy”. He is currently the Head of Department of Paediatric Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Children’s Hospital at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich – Germany

Sylvie Hétu Sylvie Hétu

"Vimala's Spirit, the Essence and the Growth of IAIM."
This is the title of the presentation to be given at the start of the Conference on Saturday morning the 9th October, by inspiring international trainer, lecturer and writer Sylvie Hétu.
In her talk Sylvie will be helping all IAIM member delegates to keep Vimala's vision fresh and alive. She will also bring awareness to the crucial elements needed to keep the vision expanding in a healthy way, now that, in her own words " the IAIM has grown into nearly 50 countries globally, and keeps on growing."
Sylvie Hétu has been involved with the IAIM for 27 years, at several levels, including being international president for 12 years and helping to implement IAIM into 10 countries, while keeping in close contact with the founder, Vimala McClure, whom she has met on several occasions.

sally goddard Sally Goddard Blythe MSc. FRSA

Sally Goddard Blythe MSc.FRSA, is a Consultant in Neuro-developmental Education and Director of The Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP) in Chester. INPP was established as a private research, clinical and training organisation in 1975, dedicated to the development of assessment procedures to identify underlying physical factors in specific learning difficulties and adults suffering from anxiety and panic disorder and to the development of effective remediation

sue gerhardt Sue Gerhardt 

Educated at Newnham College, Cambridge, in the 1970s. She now lives in Oxford, England where she is a practising psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She works with the Oxford Parent Infant Project (OXPIP), which she co-founded in 1998. This charitable organisation provides parent infant psychotherapy to families. She is the author of “Why love Matters.”

Koichi Negayama

Koichi is a Professor of Developmental Psychology at the Waseda University,Toyko. His current research project involves observing tactile interactions between infants and mothers/caretakers both in the UK and in Japan. The research focuses on the biological and cultural sides of inter-body relationship among them, and in particular what is considered to be the ideal contact within a particular culture.

Dates and times

Doors open for registration at 16.00 on Friday 8th October 2010.
At this time there will be an opportunity to see a number of our chapter’s colourful presentations showing how infant massage is represented in their country. The international DVD will also be showing on a loop system.
 
The opening session of networking, canapés and entertainment will begin at 18.30. in the Tower suite of this prestigious hotel with unique views of the River Thames and Tower Bridge.

OPEN TO ALL.  Small charge for members and non- members not attending the Educational Conference.

Educational Conference:  OPEN TO ALL Sessions on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th October will begin at 09.15. Registration at 08.30

The educational conference will conclude at 17.30 on Sunday 10th October  

The General Assembly will be on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th October from 09.00 – 17.00 each day. Open to IAIM members ONLY.

£15 as refreshments and lunch are included.

The International Educational Conference and General Assembly will be held at the spectacular Tower Guoman Hotel, Tower Bridge LONDON UK.

Commanding spectacular views of the Thames and overlooking one of London's most carefully restored areas - St. Katharine's Dock, with its colourful yachts, boutiques, bridges and walkways - this strikingly modern, fully air conditioned hotel is in a unique location on the north bank of the River Thames next to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.

Food

All Catering is included in the price, except evening meals. Banquet charged separately.

Friday evening reception of drinks and canapés and entertainment is FREE to IAIM members and non-members attending the conference. £20 for members and non- members not attending the Educational Conference.

Educational Conference: REFRESHMENTS and LUNCH is included within the ticket price.

GENERAL ASSEMBLEY £15 for the provision of refreshments and lunch.
For members attending the 2 day GA only, (and not the conference) the cost will be £50 .

Travel

by air  Air
From London Heathrow, take the Heathrow Express or Piccadilly Underground into London (Change at South Kensington ) and then follow the underground directions (see below) to the hotel. Alternatively, London City Airport is 6 miles away.
From Gatwick Airport, take the Gatwick express or other fast train services into London Victoria. Then follow underground directions below.
NB. Non- express services will be signifcantly cheaper.

Underground: Take the District or Circle Underground line to Tower Hill Station. Exit the station via the entrance on the left, go down steps and through the subway. Turn left out of the subway, walking past the Tower of London. Take the subway under the next road, turn right and then follow signs for The Tower


by road  Road
Head for Tower Bridge. Drive towards Tower Bridge as if crossing to the south of the river, straight over the first set of lights and do a U-turn at 2nd set of lights. After the traffic light controlled junction, turn left immediately into St Katherine's Way and The Tower hotel, London is at the end. There are 120 car parking spaces available under the hotel at an additional charge. (Parking on a first come basis)

BOOKING CONDITIONS

Payment must be made at the time of registering.

Either one off payment or early bird instalment offer. To take advantage of the 'Pay Now, Pay 2nd half before 6th August' offer, and still qualify for early bird discount - payment must be made by either BACS or cheque. The first payment must be made before 7th May 2010.

Cancellation policy.
If you are unable to attend the conference, you may cancel up to 28 days before the event. A booking fee of £25 will be forfeited. Refunds of the balance must be requested in writing before 10th September 2010. Unfortunately after this date no refunds can be given. All refunds will be made by cheque in UK Pounds.

In accordance with the UK 1998 Data Protection Act, we will hold your details to provide you with any updates. If you do not wish to be kept informed of any updates, please contact ga2010@iaim.org.uk
